What the Other Person Sees When You Skip, Block or Report

The reason people stay in conversations they want to leave is almost never politeness. It is not knowing what leaving looks like from the other side — whether it announces something, whether it can be traced, whether there will be consequences. So here is each action, described from the other person's point of view.

When you skip

The call ends. That is the whole of it. They are not told that you skipped rather than disconnected, they are not shown a reason, and the two cases are indistinguishable from where they are sitting.

They cannot follow you, call you back, or find you again. The queue is random, so there is no thread to pull.

Skipping is free and unlimited. Nothing in the product is designed to make leaving feel expensive, because a version of this where leaving is hard would be a worse and more dangerous product.

When you block someone

Nothing is announced to them at the moment you do it. There is no notification and no badge.

What changes is on your side: they will not be matched to you again. That is the whole of the promise, stated in one sentence so it cannot be inflated — it is not a mute, not a timeout, and not a punishment applied to their account.

When you report someone

Nothing is shown to them at the moment you report. Your description and anything you attach go to a human moderation team that works around the clock.

You will not receive a case number or a running commentary. That is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight: a reporting flow that reports back to you is also a reporting flow that can be used to work out who reported whom.

Where these controls actually live

This trips up more people than any other part of the product, so it is worth stating bluntly: report and block are on the other person's profile page, not on the call screen. If you have been scanning the call screen for a report button, that is why you could not find one.

The sequence that works best is to skip first and deal with the rest second. You never have to remain in a conversation to handle it properly, and handling it is easier once nobody is watching you do it.

One thing none of this covers

None of these actions can retract what someone already saw, and nobody can prevent another person recording their own screen — here or on any video platform ever built. What you control is what is behind you and what you choose to say. Everything on this page is about what happens next, not about undoing what happened.
